THE VOICE OF NEIL DIAMONDPETER BYRNE
“the day I see a better Diamond, will be the day the man himself appears on stage.”
Adrian Revere — The Mercury
Where it Began
Peter Byrne’s celebration of Neil Diamond’s music began in 1992 with the creation of Forever Diamond, a live concert experience featuring Peter and his highly accomplished five-piece band. That band remains together today and continues to perform and champion the enduring music of Neil Diamond, forming the foundation of a production that has stood the test of time.
In 1997, Peter launched his acclaimed concert production Hot August Night, marking the 25th anniversary of one of the greatest live albums of all time. Backed by a 40-piece orchestra at the Sydney Convention Centre, the performance earned a standing ovation from an audience of more than 4,000, establishing the show as a premium live entertainment experience from its inception.
Since that debut, Hot August Night has become an annual August event and has been presented internationally, including in Peter’s hometown of Dublin, onboard major cruise lines worldwide, and at leading Australian venues such as the State Theatre Sydney, Crown Casino Melbourne and Perth, the Adelaide Festival, and Taronga Zoo’s Twilight Series with Hot August Night in 2016 and 2017.
In 2018, following Neil Diamond’s Parkinson’s diagnosis and retirement from touring, Peter became actively involved with the Shake It Up Australia Foundation, supporting vital Parkinson’s research. Since then, he has raised over $70,000 for the cause and now serves as an Ambassador for the Foundation.
In 2020, Peter was invited by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra to present Hot August Night at Dublin’s prestigious National Concert Hall, delivering six sold-out concerts. The success of these performances led RTÉ to invite Peter back on three subsequent occasions, including a confirmed return engagement in August 2026.
Further cementing the production’s international standing, in August 2025 Peter was invited to perform Hot August Night with the Irish Symphony Orchestra as part of a weekend celebration marking the 30th anniversary of Mel Gibson’s film Braveheart, filmed in Trim, County Meath. The concert was attended by members of the original cast and remains one of the most memorable performances of Peter’s career.
A consummate performer with exceptional range, Peter is equally at home delivering an intimate acoustic performance or commanding the stage alongside a full symphony orchestra. His current offerings include Classical Diamond, a premium symphonic concert experience, and CELTIC BEAT – Legends of Ireland, a high-energy celebration of Irish folk, pop, and rock, honouring artists such as The Fureys, Foster & Allen, The Corrs, U2, and Van Morrison.
Peter’s work has been recognised with seven ACE Awards and multiple MO Awards, including Best Production Show. His artistry was also acknowledged personally by Neil Diamond himself, who commented, “Thanks for the great tribute.”
With decades of experience and international recognition, Peter Byrne continues to deliver premium live concert experiences that honour great music with integrity and scale.
ONE THING FOR SURE PETER BYRNE IS NO ROUGH DIAMOND.
